cultural activities
A variety of regularly scheduled programs bring contemporary and traditional Japanese culture and arts to Boston through lectures, film series, performances, events, and exhibitions
Sample Programs
Past programs include Kurozumikyo Kibigaku: Shinto Sacred Dance, a performance by over sixty dancers and musicians from Okayama, Japan introducing the official music and dance of the Shinto religious order of Kurozumikyo founded in 1814, co-sponsored by the Harvard Reischauer Institute.

Lectures, Seminars and conferences are offered on political, educational and social issues impacting Japan and/or the bilateral relationship.

business forums
Programs address current issues in the U.S.-Japan relationship and their impact on our region's business climate; speakers include leading participants in business, government and academia from both sides of the Pacific.
Sample Programs
Recent business forum meetings and conferences have covered such topics as Japan's Information Age: How the Internet changes the US-Japan Relationship in the 21st Century with Dr. Kazuhiko Nishi, Member of the Executive Board of ASCII Corporation and President of ASCII Education Company. In May, 2000 Glen Fukushima, President of Arthur D. Little (Japan), Inc. and former President of The American Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ACCJ) will speak on the topic, Is Japan Really Changing: An American Business Perspective.
special events & social gatherings
The Annual Dinner, Golf Tournament, New Year's Celebration, Thanksgiving luncheon, and receptions and dinners bring members together to celebrate a Japanese or American tradition or to meet distinguished leaders in the U.S.-Japan field.
Japanese classes
Over seven levels of instruction are provided in the three 12-week sessions taught by native Japanese instructors throughout the year. In addition, an intensive Japanese language weekend for all levels is offered annually. Click here for more detailed information.
corporate luncheon
This Annual Luncheon brings together business and government leaders and academic experts to promote discussion about bilateral business concerns.
