Events and Programs

The Japan-America Society presents a number of programs throughout the year.

Our signature events are programs of national significance:

The Sakura Matsuri-Japanese Street Festival , the largest one-day exhibition of Japanese culture in the nation
The Japan Bowl® , a national academic competition for high school students of the Japanese language, and
The Annual Public Affairs Dinner, which honors distinguished leaders from America and Japan

We also host many members programs throughout the year, which we organize on our own, or in cooperation with other organizations in the Washington DC area. These include:

Cultural and Performing Arts Programs
Corporate Programs that focus on developments and speakers of interest to business
Public Affairs Programs about contemporary issues in Japan and US-Japan relations, and
Social and Networking gatherings, where our Japanese and American members get to know each other better

Take a look at the list below to see what our upcoming programs are - and get a feel for what we have done over the past year.
