Welcome to the Japan America Society of Greater Detroit and Windsor

For 17 years the JAS has played a vital role in the local community, bringing together Japanese, American and Canadian business people. The Society has been a public forum for the discussion of important issues affecting the Society's membership. Industry experts have presented and led discussions on topics ranging from the manufacture of automobiles and automobile parts to international security, global economic forecasts and cross-cultural matters.

The presentation of Japanese performing Arts events in Michigan has promoted understanding and appreciation of the rich Japanese culture.

The Detroit Windsor area is a significant economic region and an important link in North American business and cultural relations. Home to over 14,000 manufacturing companies, representing more than 350 Japanese companies and 900 Canadian companies, our region enjoys a unique position as a NAFTA crossroad.
