Keizai
Koho Fellowship Tour
Since 1980, the
Keizai Koho Center (Japan Institute for Social and Economic
Affairs) in cooperation with the National Association
of Japan-America Societies (NAJAS) has sponsored a Fellowship
tour to Japan for educators in the U.S. and Canada.
The Fellowship allows teachers to learn first hand about
contemporary Japanese society and enhance their classroom
teaching of global perspectives.

Ex-envoy:
Japan ties essential
The "fundamental
friendship" between Japan and the United States should
remain intact despite changes in leadership for both countries,
former Ambassador Howard H. Baker Jr. told members of the
Japan America Society of Pennsylvania on November 9, 2009.
Baker, a former
Republican senator from Tennessee, served as ambassador to
Japan from 2001-05. He spoke for 20 minutes to about 250 people
gathered for the society's annual dinner.
