JASP members are invited to help shape the programs and activities organized by the Society each year by becoming an active member. Call the JASP office to learn more about the following active committees - Education, Golf Outing, Membership and Program. Your participation is welcomed.
Be a Japan in the Schools Volunteer!
From October to May, the JASP visits schools in the region with teams of Japanese and American volunteers to present the Society's, "Japan in the schools" program. Students participate in various hands-on activities as they learn about Japanese life, culture and language. Teachers, students and volunteers all enjoy this exciting program. Help with the annual Japan Bowl competition!
High School students from Western Pennsylvania and Ohio compete each year at the annual spring Japanese language competition, the "Japan Bowl". This all-day event tests students' knowledge of written and oral Japanese. Winners at each level of Japanese (second through fourth year) represent the region at the national contest in Washington, DC. If you have a proficient knowledge of Japanese, please contact the Society to help with this event. Click here to learn more about Japan Bowl!
