Tanabata Festival

Join us on the JAS waterfront balcony for spectacular views of Elliott Bay and the camaraderie of JAS members and friends as we celebrate Tanabata!  This will be an informal event with appetizers, wine and assorted beverages.  Come listen to the story of Tanabata, write your wish on a piece of paper and hang it on our bamboo while relaxing and mingling outside.  Enjoy the view and nice summer weather on the waterfront!

Tanabata is a Japanese festival celebrated on July 7th every year.  The festival represents the meeting of Orihime and Hikoboshi.  The Milky Way separates these lovers except on July 7th when they are allowed to meet only once a year on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month.  To celebrate this, we will have a 7-7-7 special.  $7 for JAS members on July 7th.  Take advantage of this special and join us!
