  Keizai Koho Center Teacher Fellowship 2008

The Keizai Koho Center (Japan Institute for Social and Economic Affairs) in cooperation with the National Association of Japan-America Societies (NAJAS) will sponsor a ten day Fellowship to Japan this summer for educators in the U.S. and Canada. The Fellowship allows teachers to learn first hand about contemporary Japanese society and enhance their classroom teaching of global perspectives....more

 
 

     
  National Forum Series: Japan in the 21st Century    
 

Launched in 2006, the National Forum Series is a collaborative speaker caravan program between the Embassy of Japan, the National Association of Japan-America Societies (NAJAS), and Nippon Keidanren. The Japan Foundation-Center for Global Partnerships also provides support on a selective basis. Speakers most recently traveled to Los Angeles and San Diego, CA to speak with local business and university audiences, as well as meet with the regional Consul-General.   Japan-America Youth Baseball Camp 2007

This summer, for the third year in a row, the Japan-America Youth Baseball Camp will allow American and Japanese boys aged 13 to 15 a chance to participate in a cultural exchange. Two camps will be held, the first between the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters and the Arizona Diamondbacks from August 11-18, and the second between the San Diego Padres and the Yokohama Bay Stars August 11- 22. The purpose of the camps is to provide baseball instruction and a cross-cultural experience, and to encourage young baseball players to learn more about each other and each others' countries....more
