2005 Highlights

The 2005 program, held from June 27 to July 12, included lectures and discussions about the Japanese education system, the Japanese economy, contemporary Japanese society and lifestyles, and family and education in Japan today.  Fellows visited Tokyo Gakugei University Senior High School, Tokyo Gas Company, Omron Kyoto Taiyo Company, Matsushita Electric Industrial Company, Roppongi Hills, Tully's Coffee Japan, and Nissan Motor Corporation.  They also toured historical Kyoto and spent a day at the Aichi Expo.  The final dialog with Japanese business people, educators, and consumers addressed the topic " Fostering a Work Ethic in Young People: Perspectives of North American Educators."
