SOCIETY SOLUTIONS FROM NHK WORLD-JAPAN

NHK WORLD-JAPAN (NWJ) is the international service of Japan's public media organization, NHK, delivering to the world the latest information about Japan and Asia. NWJ offers a 24-hour English-language television channel and is enhancing its radio and online services in English and other languages. Available to 420 million households in 160 countries and regions through TV & radio broadcast and news / live / on-demand, NWJ's content is shared through 5600+ videos in a total of 19 languages.

This presentation was shared at the NAJAS 2024 Annual Meeting in Portland, OR, Aug 21-23.

Selected NWJ programs will be offered for screenings. Read on to learn how to provide a screening for your community.


Requirements

  • You must belong to a nonprofit organization
  • The event must be free of charge
  • NHK WORLD-JAPAN (NWJ) must be considered as a sole supporter of the screening and an application needs to be submitted to NWJ in advance
  • The event must utilize video on demand (VOD)


Procedure for NAJAS Members

1) Download and review the application form and list of programs eligible for screening.

    Program List:

    NAJAS will update this program list with the latest offerings from NHK WORLD-JAPAN several times a year.


    2) Ensure your society / organization has the necessary equipment for projecting VOD.


    3) Submit application to NWJ by email to nhkworld_globalpr _contact@li.nhk.or.jp.


    4) Ensure that the screening includes recognition of NWJ and its promotional offerings.

    Promotional materials will be provided upon receipt of application.

    • Play an NWJ promotional video via VOD at the screening.
    • Encourage participants to download the NWJ app and follow social media accounts. 

    5) Send a report to NWJ after the screening.
